Family-friendly amusement park in Brentwood

The "Old MacDonald's Farm & Fun Park" in Brentwood, England, is a versatile family amusement park located in the countryside near the city, offering a successful mix of farm, amusement park, and nature experience. This award-winning park is primarily aimed at families with children and combines traditional elements of a farm with modern leisure attractions that provide entertainment both indoors and outdoors - regardless of the weather. Since its foundation, the park has become a popular destination for day trips, combining fun, adventure, and educational moments.

Animal experiences for children at park

A central part of the park is the variety of animals that visitors can experience up close. Over 30 different species are represented here, from classic farm animals like cows, pigs, sheep, and ponies to more exotic residents like llamas, alpacas, wallabies, meerkats, and even a European eagle-owl named Annie. Especially in spring, when the young animals are born, the park offers the opportunity to observe new life on the farm. Children can participate in feeding sessions, with food often being directed into the enclosures through slides, allowing for safe yet interactive contact. The park emphasizes education, such as through the "Fun Facts Trail," which provides information about the animals and encourages visitors to think about environmental conservation.

Educational activities for kids in park

In addition to the animals, Old MacDonald's Farm & Fun Park is known for its numerous rides and play areas, all included in the admission price. Highlights include the "Doggy Dog" roller coaster, which is fun for older children with a minimum height of 1.2 meters, and the "Crazy Barn Ride," a fast ride through a barn. Other attractions include tractor rides, giant slides, a pony adventure ride, and a carousel that also appeals to younger children. For rainy days, there are two indoor soft play areas, including the "Battle Barn" with foam cannons and an area with climbing towers, such as the new "Spiderman Tower," where children can ring a bell at the top. Outside, sandboxes, climbing frames, and adventure playgrounds ensure that the little ones' energy is fully utilized.

Indoor play areas for rainy days

The park is designed to offer something for all age groups. For toddlers, there are gentle activities like role-playing, where they can pretend to be a doctor, mechanic, or artist, while older children enjoy the more exciting rides. Seasonal events further enrich the offering: in summer, a circus performs, Halloween features a "Haunted House," and winter transforms the park into a Christmas experience with parades, polar bear shows, and a visit from Santa Claus. These events are often associated with small gifts like pumpkins or Christmas surprises for the children, making the visit extra special.

Seasonal events at amusement park

The park's infrastructure is family-friendly. There are numerous seating and picnic areas, allowing visitors to bring their own food, as well as a café serving freshly prepared meals that cater to special dietary needs. The paths are fully accessible, allowing families with strollers or individuals with mobility restrictions to navigate easily. Toilets are strategically distributed throughout the site, including changing facilities, and the staff is helpful and friendly, making the stay enjoyable. A souvenir shop offers thematically appropriate mementos, from plush animals to small farm models.

Old MacDonald's Farm & Fun Park also has an educational mission. It has been recognized for its regional environmental project that promotes sustainability and environmental awareness, and schools often use the park for trips where children learn through hands-on experiences. The animals live in well-maintained, spacious enclosures, and the facility is regularly cleaned and expanded to offer visitors something new. The loving design is evident in the details - from painted walls to thematic decorations that underscore the farm atmosphere.

The park's location near Brentwood makes it easily accessible, and ample parking is available, including for people with disabilities. On beautiful days, it can get crowded, but the size of the grounds ensures that visitors are well spread out. The park remains a family-owned business, giving it a personal touch, and its success is reflected in its continuous development, such as new attractions or improved facilities.

Had a great time, plenty for the kids to do. We went with kids age ranging between 0-4 years and there was something for everyone. Lots of food options and rides and different animals to see. Would definitely recommend and return.

Had a lovely day here during the February half term. We love seeing the animals, and the rides are obviously a great bonus for the kids. We especially love the carousels, rollercoaster and the maze. Food is delicious, although not cheap it's worth the money. There's also plenty of picnic tables to bring your own food. Plenty of parking (although not everyone parks considerately!) Toilets are clean as is the cafe/seating area. Would highly recommend for a great day out.

Seemed expensive for adults but it was Feb Half Term (Peak Time). That said we spent nearly a full day there and it was hugely enjoyed y our 6 year old. Good balance between rides and farm stuff.

Expensive but my kids enjoyed, experience was great. To me food also overpriced. It’s quite big space, there were so many different things to do. Kids went for rides and they enjoyed it . They also played at the soft play area. Overall they enjoyed a lot, we may go again.
